Greetings from Melina

A very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to you all from Magda & Ian.
Melina is ashore at Universal on the Hamble river and put to bed for the winter. It is expected that work will start in the spring on an extensive refit and hope to be afloat again in May 2006.

Magda has been working hard on her translations and interpeting. Ian has just had his shoulder stiched back together after a fall on a Sunday afternoon walk in the Azores and now cannot drive again until March. In the meantime he will be starting another blog site on sailing technology and aerodynamics for those interested in such things.

Probably the highlight of our three year Atlantic tour was to sail on CharmIII once again after a gap of over forty years. She has been restored to a very high standard by Richard West in Anguilla, but still has the origional masts. Probably the oldest hollow built up masts still in use after more than seventy five years!

Cheers to all

Ian & Magda
