Melina with Magda & Ian reached Annapolis pm on Sunday 23rd.
From New London we motored along Long Islsnd Sound to Port Washington and were then stuck there for aday due to strong southerly winds. We then arose at 0600 to motor down the East River and out the Hudson River, a wounderful sunny morning and a great view of Manhatten, but could not find the camera (eventually found in the laundry bag!). We continued passed Sandy Hook and down the New Jersey coast, enjoying several hours of beautiful sailing with an offshore wind. Anchored in Cape May Harbor at 0300. AT Saturday midday we were on the move again up the Delaware to the Cheasapeake canal. Anchoring just past Chesapeake City at midnight. Sunday we started at 0800 to catch the tide down to Annapolis. Magda & Ian covered 330 miles from New L0ondon.
The engine and gear box are working perfectly apart from a slight leak in the seawater cooling system. We also had an elecrical charging problem but that now appears to be solved.
Magda is returning home on 26th and Ian will continue on down to Beaufort NC another 280 miles. It should be a lot warmer down there, here there is frost at night, but the sunny days are reasonably warm. The current plan is to leave on Monday 1st with Slavek Padro from New Jersey as crew. Johny Srodek (Yogi's brother) will join us in Beaufort.

(Click on the names to see where they are).
On Saturday it was very windy and cold so did not leave until Sunday Morning in bright sunshine but only 1deg (34) and went through the Cape Cod Canal and on to Newport RI.
From there it was a relatively short hope to New London where we arrived at sunset on Monday.
Magda arrived on Sunday 16th. The forecast is for it to continue cold and windy, but hope to be in Annapolis around the 24th. From there it is on down to Beaufort NC in early December.
